Water Damage Repair & Rebuilding Process

Call ACC Restoration for a professional water inspection as soon as you find water damage in your home. We can quickly and accurately assess the damage, and use advanced technology like thermal camera to properly inspect any possible remaining issues in your home or business.

Our truck-mounted extraction equipment will help us to efficiently suck up any remaining water in your home or business. This step can take anywhere from a few hours to multiple days, and our machines won’t be turned off until every last drop of water is extracted.

The second water touches certain materials, it begins to cause damage. The longer a material is exposed to water, generally speaking, the more likely the damage to that material will become irreparable. We will go through your home or business and safely remove all the overly saturated or damaged materials, salvaging as much we can with safety as our main objective.

After clearing out all the water and damaged materials, we implement our drying process. With the help of professional grade dehumidifiers and fans we will bring the moisture levels of all the materials in your home or business back to their natural state, based off each material’s dry standard. ACC Restoration adheres to the drying standards set forth by the IICRC.

Our flood damage restoration team will keep clear and comprehensive documentation of the entire restoration process. Taking photos of the damaged items and necessary work done to make sure that you are properly and fairly covered by your insurance company.

ACC takes care of your water damage restoration job from start to finish.  This keeps the insurance documentation succinct and ensures that the job gets done right the first time.

Categories Of Water Damage

CAT 1 - Clean Water

Category 1 water damage results from 'clean water'. Or more clearly put, water that originates from a sanitary water source, such as a burst water pipe. As such, this water does not pose substantial health risks, and generally requires the least amount of restoration work. It is important to remember that even if the water loss was clean initially, depending on what the water has come into contact with, or the time passed since the damage occurred, the classification of this damage can change to Category to 2 or Category 3.

CAT 2 - Grey Water

Category 2 comes from water that originates from your property's grey water. This includes water from toilet bowls with urine (no feces), sump pump failures, as well as things like water discharge from dishwashers or washing machines. Additionally, water damage caused by rainwater which makes its way into a home or business from the outside is also considered and treated as Category 2. This is because there is no clear way of identifying the list of contaminants it encountered before entering your property.

CAT 3 - Black or Toxic Water

Category 3 water damage is caused from water that is highly contaminated. This is water that can contain pathogenic, toxigenic, or other harmful agents. Generally this water is either known to be dirty, or cannot be safely identified as clean or grey water. Things like sewage, toilet backflows, all forms of flooding from seawater or river water, and any other possibly contaminated water. Even wind-driven rain water from hurricanes, tropical storms, or other weather-related events will be CAT 3 and will require the highest level of professional cleanup.
